Terms of service
Last updated 31 July 2026
Sojourn Logbook™ is not yet released. This document is published ahead of launch so it can be reviewed, and so the app stores have something to point at. It takes effect when the app ships.
These terms govern your use of Sojourn Logbook (the "app") and sojourn-logbook.com (the "site"), and form a binding agreement between you and Sojourn Technologies L.L.C-FZ ("we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in the United Arab Emirates. By using the app or the site, you agree to them.
1. What Sojourn Logbook is
Sojourn Logbook is a personal flight-logging tool for pilots. It records flights, computes currency and flight-time limitation positions, and produces exports formatted for the requirements of various civil aviation authorities.
2. What Sojourn Logbook is not
Your record is your responsibility. For pilots, a logbook is a legal document and you are the person accountable for its accuracy and completeness. For cabin crew there is no equivalent personal record-keeping obligation — but the record you keep here is still yours, and its accuracy is still down to what you enter. Sojourn Logbook is a tool that helps you keep it. It is not a certifying authority, it does not verify your entries, and using it does not make your record compliant.
In particular:
- Our authority export formats are our good-faith implementation of published regulations. Regulations change, are amended, and are sometimes interpreted differently by the authority in front of you. Verify any export against your own authority's current requirements before relying on it.
- Currency, recency and flight-time-limitation figures are calculated from the data you enter. If your entries are incomplete or wrong, the figures will be wrong, and they carry no authority of their own. All such figures are indicative only — confirm them against your Operations Manual and your operator's scheme before relying on them. They are not legal advice.
- Nothing in the app is legal, regulatory, medical or aeromedical advice, and nothing in it determines whether you are legal to operate a flight. That determination is yours and your operator's.
- Where a format is presented as an experience summary rather than a statutory logbook page, that distinction is deliberate and is stated in the app.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or older if your jurisdiction requires it for digital consent.
4. Your data
Your flight records are stored on your device, not on our servers. We cannot read them and we cannot recover them. You are responsible for keeping exports or device backups. See the privacy policy and privacy posture.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not process your payment details.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings — deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled under the policy of the store you bought through.
- Prices shown before launch are intended launch prices and may change before release.
- If we raise the price of a plan, the new price applies to new subscriptions. The price of your own subscription does not change while it remains active, and any change the stores do require us to notify will be notified in advance.
Free
The Free tier requires no payment and no card. It exists so you can put your own flying into Sojourn and see the result before deciding anything.
Free accounts may log for 3 months. That period starts when you log your first duty, not when you sign up, so an account that sits unused loses nothing. The length may change for new accounts. Nothing you import from an existing logbook counts against it — bringing your history across is free on every tier, however large it is.
We will tell you two weeks before the period ends. When it ends, the app stops accepting new entries until you subscribe. Nothing already in your record is hidden, locked or deleted. You keep full access to everything you have logged, you can still read and render it, and you can still export your raw data.
Three things are true on every tier, including this one, and do not depend on your ever paying us: your record stays on your device, encrypted; importing an existing logbook is free; and you can export your raw data at any time, free, for as long as the app exists. A subscription adds formatted output — authority-format logbook extracts and career summaries — not access to your own record.
Starter Pro
Starter Pro is offered free. For pilots it runs for up to 2 years and is capped at 250 logged hours, whichever comes first, with per-aircraft limits: 200 hours on light single-engine piston aircraft, and 50 hours on every other type. The first year needs no payment details; continuing into a second year requires a card on file, and nothing is charged until that second year ends. The limits above apply for the whole period, including the second year. For cabin crew it runs for 1 year, covering initial training and the first months on the line. Every period starts when you log your first duty, not when you sign up. We do not routinely ask for proof of training or employment — the limits above are how eligibility is kept fair — but we may ask for reasonable evidence of training or employment status where an account appears to be using the tier to avoid paying.
We may withdraw or change Starter Pro for future users, but we will not silently convert an existing Starter Pro account into a paid one. When your free period ends we will tell you before anything is charged, and your record remains yours to export whether or not you continue.
Tax Bundle
The Tax Bundle is a single subscription granting access to both Sojourn Logbook and Sojourn Tax Pro. Cancelling it ends access to both. Sojourn Tax is governed by its own terms at sojourn.tax.
Ambassador programme
If you take part in the ambassador programme, you may earn free subscription periods for people you refer. Rewards are earned only when a person you refer starts a paid subscription, and are credited as subscription time rather than cash. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or redeemed for money, and cannot be applied to a subscription bought through a third party who does not support credit.
Where you already hold Starter Pro, rewards accrue and begin counting when your Starter Pro period ends. They do not extend it.
We do not reward, request, or imply a reward for a rating or review of Sojourn Logbook on any app store or other platform, and rewards cannot be earned by posting one. Referrals must be genuine: self-referrals, duplicate accounts, and referrals obtained by misrepresenting what Sojourn is may be reversed.
Current reward levels are published with the programme and may change. We may change or end the programme at any time; rewards already credited will be honoured.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the app or site to break the law, to falsify a flight record for submission to an authority or employer, to attack or overload our services, or to reverse-engineer them except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable where you live.
7. Intellectual property
The app, the site, and their content — source code, design, authority rule data, copy, and visual identity — are owned by Sojourn Technologies L.L.C-FZ or its licensors. Your flight data is yours — we claim no rights over it, which is straightforward given we never receive it.
8. Availability
We aim to keep things working but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the app entirely, we will give reasonable notice and ensure you can export your complete record first.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only so far as the law permits.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, licence privileges, employment or profits, arising from your use of the app or site. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete it. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms. Export your record first — we cannot provide a copy afterwards.
12. Apple
If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and no warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that may give you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Commission's online dispute-resolution platform is available to you.
