Delete your data In beta testing
Deleting your data
What exists, where it lives, and how to remove it.
Sojourn Logbook™ is not yet released. This document is published ahead of launch so it can be reviewed, and so the app stores have something to point at. It describes the deletion flow built into the app.
Deleting your account and data — in the app
Sojourn Logbook deletes your account from inside the app, no email required:
Settings → Account → Delete account & data.
The app first offers you an export — once deletion runs, we cannot recover anything, not as a policy but because no copy exists anywhere else. You confirm by typing DELETE, and the erasure removes everything the app holds on the device: your flight and duty records, settings, licence and medical details, your PIN, your recovery key, and the app’s caches. It also detaches the anonymous subscription identifier from the device. If any step cannot complete, the app tells you exactly what could not be removed rather than pretending it all did.
What deletion does not touch
Three things are outside the app’s reach, and you should know about them before you delete:
- Your store subscription. Apple and Google own billing (Terms §6). Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. They are separate actions, handled in different places.
- Backup files you saved elsewhere. A backup you exported to your own storage is your copy. It stays openable with the recovery key you wrote down — deletion on this device does not reach into your files.
- Short-lived delivery logs at our providers. The services that deliver verification codes and emails keep brief transactional logs, disclosed in the privacy policy. They expire on the providers’ own schedules.
